I feel that I ought to be honest with anyone who reads this. I am a Chinese born Australian citizen. Unfortunately, a few years ago my literary ability plateaued despite countless hours spent on writing countless blog/rant/diatribe entries. Not that being more eloquent is relevant to my cousre, but writing has been a hobby since my teens.
Now to the title of the blog,
250, is a local slang (of Beijing, I think) to label a certain group of people. I have long had trouble with its translation. I think I have it now: "Impulsive idiot".
For example, Berlusconi could be labelled as a massive 250 when he said in relation to his promise to combat rape,
"You can't consider deploying a force that would be sufficient to prevent the risk. We would have to have so many soldiers because our women are so beautiful."
Fortunately I do keep myself in check on many occasions but still, having read the vast majority of my writings on the old blog (how the hell he managed to find it, is a mystery to me), my father labelled me an enormous "250".
With that cleared out of the way, I hereby declare the intention of the blog.
1. To avoid my dad's prying mouse
2. To reflect upon issues relevant to people of my demographics.
3. To have an outlet for my "250" urges so I don't actually display it in public. Hopefully.
So there you have it. On this blog, some entries will be serious, some light hearted, some whingy, some even, though hopefully not, outright offensive. To each his own.
